"she looked up, but it was all dark overhead; before her was another long passage, and the White Rabbit was still in sight, hurrying down it." |
"Everything is black, there´s no turning back"...
Life, what is it but a dream? In the middle of this so-called life Alice chose to wake.
"and what is the use of a book,' thought Alice `without pictures or conversation?"This was a clear manifestation of her urge to imagine, there's nothing more healthier for a child than that, to feel human...
...what a torture it must be for an artist to be denied to express himself like Manson. To be stripped of the very essence that makes you who you are, because without art, who was he? As he described numerous time on different interviews during the era of EAT ME, DRINK ME he was forced to redfine himself now, as so was Alice with the inmortal phrase, "Who are you?"
It is obvious that a little chaos is needed, a little destruction here and there. Salvador Dali once said:
“Surrealism is destructive, but it destroys only what it considers to be shackles limiting our vision."
And Picasso said:
"Every act of creation is first an act of destruction".Thus, in order to reach the real happiness that we want we must cause some mischief, cause such a stir, such a clever storm that as soon as it washes away, we'll find the light of day. And that's how Alice got into Wonderland.
"Putting holes in happiness.
We'll paint the future black
If it needs any color.
My death sentence is a story
Who'll be digging when you finally let me die?
The romance of our assassination
If you're Bonnie, I'll be your Clyde.
But the grass is greener here and
I can see all of your snakes.
You wear your ruins well
Please run away with me to hell."
Though at this point Alice's choices could have been considered heroic, that would explain why many people feel attracted to her. She went in and out like nothing at all. She never got bitten, or hurt or poisoned. Couldn't say the same thing about Manson after listening to these words:
"Blow out the candles
On all my frankensteins.
At least my death wish will come true.
You taste like Valentine's and
We cry,
You're like a birthday.
I should have picked the photograph
It lasted longer than you."
By the way, this song was said to be written upon his birthday; both a celebration and a mourning.Helpless, unable to regain the one thing that made him inmortal, that blood, that lust for life, he defines his future black. Wasn't toxic love what killed it in the end? Was he the victim of a vampire, or a psychic vampire?
"She had dirty word witchcraft
I was in the deep end of her skin.
Then, it seemed like a one car car wreck
But I knew it was a horrid tragedy.
Ways to make the tiny satisfaction disappear..."
This takes me back to the lyrics of The Who's Tommy song called "We're Not Gonna Take It".
"See me,Feel me,Touch me,Heal me"...And Alice said:
`I'm sure those are not the right words,' said poor Alice, and her eyes filled with tears again as she went on...
as if somehow this was what Manson really meant to say; a cry for help.
"Who in the world am I? Ah, THAT'S the great puzzle!" said Alice.
We're still swimming in a sea of confusion, and we're just a car crash away...
"...Everything is so out-of-the-way down here, that I should think very likely it can talk..." |
